Two weeks after Birgunj border opens

Goods are smoothly entering Nepal via Birgunj from India as the Raxaul-based Indian customs have allowed carts ferrying them to cross the border. Cargo vehicles, however, have not entered Nepal. The border entry point witnessed a virtual standstill after the United Democratic Madhesi Front resorted to border obstruction following the promulgation of Constitution four months ago. The supporters and cadres of agitating Madhesi parties have been staging a sit-in protest at the Miteri Pul, the bridge that adjoins Nepal and India since September 24.
